Caution: Breaking Major Update
Our theme is still in a public beta.
With the release of version 2 in 2022, we are planning a stable state for all user groups. However, the focus of v1.8 was still the implementation of state-of-the-art PageSpeed functions.
If you are using an older version of our theme, you should therefore create backups beforehand during an update and prepare the update on a staging environment – you will have to redefine settings, sidebars and menus.
As a small team, we had to consider whether to invest the time we invest in developing our free theme in groundbreaking improvements or in upgrade scripts – so see version v1.8 as a completely new theme that you’ll have to configure from scratch when you update – you’ll be rewarded for this with up to 30% smaller page size.
Please also make sure that our products share a common core – this must be the same for all our plugins and our theme on your website – we have published the appropriate v1.8 versions of our plugins at the same time.
Our maintenance customers receive the update within the scope of the agreed services.
New feature
CSS Caching

In the past, our CSS parser had to rewrite the CSS from the theme configuration every time it was called up – this automatically generated CSS is now cached.
For example, clear the cache automatically via the SV100 entry in the Adminbar or for the respective module when you save settings in it.
Practical: If you use WP-Rocket, the WP-Rocket cache will also be emptied directly, saving you the extra click.
Improved function
CSS Parsing

Our improved CSS parsing ensures that only the style statements that are needed are reliably output.
Unseen or empty settings, e.B. for font sizes or margins, therefore do not output CSS.
Responsive compatible: Almost all our settings are not only responsively adjustable in 7 levels, but are also meaningfully summarized by our CSS parser – so the page size is also effectively reduced.
New feature
CSS Loading on Demand

We only load the CSS for the individual blocks if they are really needed.
This works reliably for pages, posts, post types, sidebars and archives – i.e. wherever the Block Editor could be used.
Extra mile: WordPress outputs the default CSS for the default blocks as a monolithic CSS file – we have split these so that really only the CSS is output for those blocks that are actually present on the respective page.
Improved function
No more jQuery dependency

Frontend frameworks are bad for the PageSpeed – jQuery does not fit into a modular theme concept.
Therefore, we decided to remove all jQuery dependencies from our theme. Thus, the page size can be reduced by over 30 KB (compressed) or almost 100 KB (uncompressed). We also plan to implement this for our plugins.
In the future, it is best to give preference to solutions that do not use jQuery to avoid loading this framework on your site.
Alternatively, it also helps if the corresponding functions are only loaded on the subpages on which they are actually in use – so you prevent jQuery e.B. from being loaded on the start page, even if your jQuery script is only needed on one subpage.
New feature
Infinite number of sidebars

We’ve rethought the way sidebars are managed: create as many sidebars as you want in the theme.
Just set the ID, label, and description – so you can distinguish them later.
New feature
Content Header Effects
Enable effects for the content header (global and optional per post) – you have the choice of 5 different effects.
In addition, you can blur the background – and also change the thickness individually depending on the contributions, so that the texts of the content header always remain easy to read.

Set a standard for all posts and override both effect and blend mode individually for each post. The feature is currently not compatible with Apple Safari.
Also in the future
No compromises

Since the previous version 1.5, more than 1,000 more development hours have gone into the development of our theme – in addition to the changes listed here, hundreds of details in the theme have been improved and numerous bugs have been fixed.
Our WordPress theme is the backbone to achieve a PageSpeed 100 confidently and thus achieve top SEO values.
Our theme is mainly intended for projects that require high performance – as a multi-purpose theme with state-of-the-art substructure, it is our claim to always provide the best techniques for the delivery of a website.
In this way, we are able to implement any web design true to the original and quickly and efficiently thanks to its developer-friendly structure.
Only the modules that are really needed for the page construction are loaded. This modular approach requires a very different technological approach than a single-purpose theme or one in which PageSpeed plays a subordinate role.
For your next website relaunch, you should therefore ask yourself a question:
Why try to fix architectural errors of a theme in a PageSpeed optimization when you can immediately rely on a PageSpeed 100 optimized theme?
We will be happy to advise you whether our PageSpeed 100 WordPress theme is right for you.
