My site is setup like the following
wordpress.domain.com (v3.2.1) (no www.)
forum.domain.com (v3.2.3) (no www.)
IPBWI for WP 3.1 alpha 1

My worpress is in MU mode, with 2 other blogs that are on other domains (domain1.com and domain2.com), but right now I'm just trying to get it to let me login to the main site [wordpress.domain.com] and forums [forum.domain.com] (being able to use the other domains would be nice too, but not a concern atm)
My account is manually synced. Username, email, and password all exactly the same including case.
The second I enable SSO I cannot log back into my wordpress until i rename the plugin directory. The forums seem to let me log in and out just fine. I tried clearing my cookies but no change in behavior occurred.
Is this an issue with cookies? If so, what should my cookie settings look like? Secondly, when cookie setting in IPBWI for WP is set to manual it does not seem to let you change it, always reverting back to .wordpress.domain.com.

Also was I supposed to upload files to my IPB install?

Hi xz3r0,

thx for your feedback. You have to set Cookie Domain in Board to .domain.com and in IPBWI Settings in Board to .domain.com to get it work. I'll start right now with writing a step-by-step tutorial to make installation more easy.

And yes, you have to upload the files in forum/ directory to your board installation and you have to import the xml-file into your board's settings to get IPBWI's configuration panel in board.

Additionally, deleting all cookies from *.domain.com is good for testing purposes.

Kind regards,
Matthias

I kind of thought that, then the problem is with the manual setting switching itself back.
And I uploaded the files to the forums, but had no idea bout importing the xml but i also speculated something like that was needed. The readme did not touch IPB at all.
Thanks for clearing that all up.

Edit: Got setting imported in IPB. You said to set the cookie domain to .domain.com for both IPBWI and for IPB but what about the "Blog Cookie Domain" settings in IPB SSO settings?

I've just finished the HowTo. Please check all your settings following the installation tutorial.

Great! That makes things very simple.
I only have 2 issues. One, when it says "Blog-Domain" i assume it means blog.domain.com and not just domain.com, correct?
And 2, will you release a patch for IPBWI manual setting not allowing it to be change it?

Edit: i guess setting it to detect from board works as a workaround.
It seems to be kind of working now but does not play well with the MU setup. Ill play around with it and make a new post.

it should work after selecting it on drop down list and click on submit. after that, the input text field should be activated.

Plz don't forget to save the correct site ID in IP.board's IPBWI settings.

After the text field is activated. I make changes and hit submit. the text field changes back to the suggested: .blog.domain.com
Like i said, pulling from board seems to work for now though.

The ID is correct. I can login and out via IPB, i can only logout via wordpress. When i logout it does not log me out as network admin, just from that one blog (i still have my admin bar at the top of the page). When i try to login via IPBWI Widget i get a page is not found error (blog.domain.com/user). When i try to login via meta widget it takes me to blog.domain.com/wp-admin where it does not accept my user name (unless ipbwi is disabled)

Also, does this break the ability to use facebook and twitter to login to the forums? Extending that ability to wordpress would be amazing.

it's important to delete all cookies and restart the browser while trying that out. I've these issues, too. But after deleting all cookie concerning the domain used on blog and on forum, it works.

This seems that username/password/email aren't fully synced. If you confirm that they are fully synced, can I get FTP, PHPmyAdmin, WordPress-Admin and Board-Admin Datas of your test installation? I'll check this issue.

I haven't tried this yet, I'll take a closer look on that.

try resettings your password in wordpress through pw reset feature when trying to login. this should help.

Nice work on the bugs.

Still cant login via wordpress. Reset password via wp, cleared cookies, reset password via ipb.

And i'm rather certain that IPBWI knocks out the ability to use FB and Twitter connect fyi (a feature i really enjoy having).

Please send me your FTP, PHPmyAdmin, WordPress Admin and IPB Admin Datas to contact@ipbwi.com. I'll take a closer look on the login issue.

Concerning the FB and Twitter Login: Once the smooth SSO works safely with normal accounts, I'll take a closer look to the FB/Twitter feature.
